The Ontario Superior Court of Justice approved the Settlement in this action on May 21, 2026. A copy of the Court's reasons for approving the Settlement can be downloaded from the Documents tab of this website.

There are two types of Claims in this Settlement. You can make either a Track 1 or a Track 2 Claim, as described below:
Track 1 - compensation for general harm:
Track 2 - compensation for physical and sexual assault, and solitary confinement:
* Class Members who only attended a Training School prior to September 1, 1963 are only eligible to make a claim for compensation under Track 1.

Training Schools Records Request Deadline: October 22, 2026
(NOTE: You do not need your Training Schools records to make a claim for compensation. You can still request your Training Schools records from the Government of Ontario after this deadline passes. The Records Request Process is only for class members who want to get a copy of their Training Schools records on an expedited timeline for their own purposes.)
